On-Demand Energy Control with the Everhome Ecotracker

Recently, besides the integration with the Shelly Pro 3EM/3EM, there’s another way to smartly regulate the energy output of the Zendure SolarFlow systems. Zendure has integrated the Ecotracker from the company Everhome into the SolarFlow product line. The Ecotracker is a device that measures the electricity consumption of your entire home and you simply click it onto your main electricity meter.

That's what makes it special: unlike the Shelly 3EM/Pro 3EM, you don't need an electrician for the installation to have the device built into your fuse box.
The Ecotracker is magnetically attached to the IR interface of your smart meter. As of writing this article, the Ecotracker from Everhome supports 126 different meters. Previously, I used the Poweropti from Powerfox on the IR interface of my meter, but it is currently not supported by Zendure. That's why I replaced it with the Everhome Ecotracker.
What I like about the Ecotracker is that it's super easy to install—just click it onto the meter—and that the installation can be done effortlessly even by a non-expert. In my opinion, this makes the Zendure system a lot more efficient because less power is lost.
Imagine this: you set a base load that you've estimated, or maybe different loads at different times. You can easily configure that in the Zendure App. But as soon as the actual consumption deviates from your programmed input, you're either feeding back too little or too much. This is where the Ecotracker comes in: it knows exactly how much energy is needed in your house and intelligently and on-demand regulates the energy output from the battery.
Here's how you set up the Ecotracker:
- ● Step 1: Download the Everhome app and create an account.
- ● Step 2: Connect the Ecotracker and add it in the Everhome app.
- ● Step 3: Link your Everhome account in the Zendure app.
In my experience, the connection is stable and fast. It's important—but that's pretty self-explanatory—that you have sufficient Wi-Fi coverage where your electricity meter is, so the Ecotracker can be included in your home network. Ideally, you should also have a power outlet available in the meter box or nearby to power the Ecotracker.
Here are a few screenshots from the Everhome app after creating an account and adding the Ecotracker:

The setup in the Zendure app looks like this:

Link the Everhome account with the Zendure app. The Ecotracker appears in the Zendure app.
In the Home section of the Zendure app, it now looks like this:

What I find really handy is the concordance curve in the SMART CT mode. With it, you can see the relationship between input and requested energy at a glance. You also have this curve with the Shelly integration.

Additionally, the adjustment of power output to changing energy needs is very fast

Conclusion
I find the Everhome integration a great success because it allows many more people to use the Smart CT mode and regulate the power output of the SolarFlow on-demand. This makes the SolarFlow storage system a lot more efficient. The installation is simple and the cost of the Ecotracker, at 89 euros, is also very reasonable.
